Deliberate misinterpretation from the perspective of socio-cognitive pragmatics

Abstract The present study explores the realizing mechanisms of deliberate misinterpretation, by examining specific situations misinterpretation in fictional conversation, from perspective socio-cognitive pragmatics, so as to shed light on human daily conversations. results analyzing dialogs sitcom Friends show that has do with possibility ambiguity speaker’s side and divergence hearer’s side. It is also argued these circumstances egocentrism manifested consciously deliberately. Unlike generally discussed, breakdown communication usually a positive influence communication, certain communicative goals speaker may thus be fulfilled.
